drivingDirection Pere Marquette State Park is located on Ilinois Route 100 (The Great River Road), about 18 miles west of Alton, Illinois. From Chicago: Take I-55 South to Exit 52 at Litchfield, IL Rt 16. Take Rt 16 West approx 49 miles to Jct of IL Rt 100. Proceed south on Rt 100 approximately 10 miles to the park. From St. Louis: Take I-270 North to US Hwy 367 North to Alton. Turn left on IL 143, proceed to 3rd stop light at IL Rt 100 and turn left. Take Rt 100 approximately 18 miles to the park.

importantInformation Camping fees are refundable if cancellation notification is received no later than 3 days prior to arrival. Shelter Reservations are non-refundable unless the area is closed by the Department, in this circumstance the Site Manager will contact you prior to your reservation date to cancel and issue your refund. A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party. Camping rate discounts apply to Illinois residents only. The maximum length of camping stay is 14 nights in a 30 day period between May 1 and September 30. A minimum of 3 nights must be reserved for Memorial Day, Indepedence Day, and Labor Day weekends. Responsible use of alcohol is permitted in the park and campground. All pets must be on a leash. Pet owners are responsible for cleanup of their animal's waste. The Park closes for day use visitors at 9:00PM. Firewood Ban: It is illegal to bring firewood from out-of-state, or from a quarantine area or adjacent counties where wood exportation or movement has been prohibited by State or Federal Law. The maximum number of individuals per site is 4 adults with or without children Sites can accommodate a maximum of 1 wheeled camper and 1 tent, or 2 tents. Groups of 25 or more are required to register at the visitor center in advance.
